Global Hand washing day theme ” The power is in your hands”

Attended by over five thousand students from various primary schools, all congregated at the Makutano Primary School in Mwala, Machakos County

With the intention of promoting good hygiene and sanitation practices, the hand washing day held on 15th October 2013 attracted a huge turn-out of over five thousand students from various primary schools, all congregated at the Makutano Primary School in Mwala, Machakos County.

High ranking public officers in the health sector, as well as various NGO’s in the WASH sector graced the occasion.

Banza was not left behind and had a opportunity to showcase the Banza Toilet to the over 4,000 in attendance.  The response was energizing, with children evidently captivated by the toilet and the grown-ups taken by its practicality.

Hand washing is an activity that is closely linked to the use of the toilet to ensure the maintenance of good health practices. So far, the activity is being encouraged especially among children, so that they grow into healthy adults.
